This was a fandom song I instantly fell in love with, and I told myself right away that I wanted to cover it. It seemed like something that would've been a total blast to play around with it, and it was!
Looking back on it, I feel like this was my first chance to take a song I loved and put my own twists and add my own spices to it. It was a test to see if I could do some things with a cover that came from myself.
lyrics
I'm letting it go and letting them in
Pondering for a way to begin
Coming out clean, cleaning up nice
They're shaping me up and taking me in
Forgiving my pain and riding the wind
Will everything change when we arrive?
The stars are falling faster than before
The moon is calling, but earth is calling more
Whoa, ohhh, now can't ya see?
Whoa, ohhh, so good to be free
Whoa, I don't need anything
Because I'm just, I'm just who I want to be
I'm just me
It's terribly lonely out in space
Laughter is rare and smiles erased
Friendship is gone, oh, what had I done?
Now that I learned I'll stay for a while
Now that I've burned ten-hundred miles
I'll never go back, it wasn't much fun
The sun is setting faster than before
But life is stirring just outside the door
Whoa, ohhh, now can't ya see?
Whoa, ohhh, so good to be free
Whoa, I don't need anything
Because I'm just, I'm just who I want to be
I'm just me, woah
Whoa, ohhh, now can't ya see?
Whoa, ohhh, so good to be free
Whoa, I don't need anything
Because I'm just, I'm just who I want to be
I'm just me
(C'mon, one more time!)
Whoa, ohhh, now can't ya see?
Whoa, ohhh, so good to be free
Whoa, I don't need anything
Because I'm just, I'm just who I want to be
I'm just me
I'm just me
